Position Summary

This role focuses on delivering outpatient orthopedic and sports rehabilitation services primarily to a pediatric demographic, encompassing school-aged children through young adults. The ideal candidate will be proficient in independently managing the full spectrum of professional services, from patient intake to the implementation of proper coding and billing practices in accordance with legal and ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct comprehensive evaluations and provide treatment for a variety of sports-related injuries and orthopedic conditions, including but not limited to musculoskeletal injuries, overuse syndromes, neurological conditions, and trauma. The therapist will apply evidence-based practices tailored to the age and athletic level of each patient.
  2. Utilize developmentally appropriate strategies for behavior management in pediatric patients, ensuring that therapeutic interventions align with the child's age and capabilities while fostering a family-centered approach.
  3. Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals and timelines, ensuring collaborative agreement with patients and their families.
  4. Implement treatment protocols utilizing various modalities such as exercise, neuromuscular re-education, joint and soft tissue mobilization, taping, electrical stimulation, and thermal therapies as prescribed by a physician. Recommendations for dynamic bracing or orthotics may also be included to enhance patient functionality.
  5. Educate patients and their families on strategies to maximize function and facilitate a safe return to activities and sports, including the development of home exercise programs.
  6. Adhere to documentation standards as outlined by regulatory bodies and organizational policies, contributing to quality management initiatives.
  7. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams within the healthcare facility and community resources to optimize patient care and treatment effectiveness. Participate in discharge planning, care conferences, and educational sessions for patients and families.
  8. Foster professional relationships within the department and the broader community, engaging with physicians, families, and healthcare personnel. Supervise and mentor rehabilitation technicians and students, providing constructive feedback on their performance.
  9. Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental objectives.
