Job Overview

Position Summary:
We are in search of a dedicated professional to contribute to the Department of Antibody Engineering at Roche and Genentech as a Laboratory Research Scientist. This position entails the design and execution of hands-on laboratory experiments alongside data analysis and interpretation.

A key focus will be on the experimental evaluation of antibodies aimed at expediting drug development processes through the application of machine learning techniques. Additionally, this role will require close collaboration with computational teams to advance innovative in silico antibody design methodologies.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Employ advanced molecular biology techniques for the production of proteins.
  • Coordinate protein expression and purification efforts with various teams.
  • Characterize proteins utilizing high-throughput screening methods such as ELISA, SPR, and flow cytometry.
  • Manage data processing and storage within centralized databases.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s (BS) or Master’s (MS) degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of research experience in protein biochemistry, protein engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • Proven expertise in molecular biology techniques.
  • Competence in computer operations, including scientific data analysis and database management.
  • Strong organizational and communication abilities.
  • A demonstrated capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Research experience with antibody-based molecular engineering and relevant data types (e.g., surface plasmon resonance data and deep sequencing datasets) is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Self-motivated individuals with a passion for biotechnology innovation and drug development are encouraged to consider this opportunity.

Compensation:
The anticipated pay range for this position is $30.47/hour to $40.62/hour.
