Position Summary:The Production Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the management of facilities and the efficient production, dispensing, and assembly of all products at our facility. This role is crucial in defining strategies, processes, and tactical execution for equipment, facilities, and infrastructure to ensure compliance with business operations and regulatory standards.
This position collaborates closely with various departments, including Supply Chain, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Finance, Process Development, and Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S), to guarantee the timely and high-quality execution of manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead teams in safety, efficiency, cost management, and employee engagement.
- Ensure product manufacturing meets customer and quality standards while adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the Facilities team and external vendors to maintain site operations and equipment management.
- Develop and implement operational strategies and lean processes to enhance efficiency and customer experience.
- Manage personnel activities, including budgeting, staffing, training, and performance evaluations.
- Act as an operational partner across multiple functions and regions.
- Establish and standardize processes in line with quality management systems and KPIs.
- Support audits and ensure compliance with training and documentation standards.
- Negotiate and manage procurement of services and equipment for site operations.
- Collaborate with financial leadership to develop operating and capital budgets and drive cost reduction initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences, operations, engineering, or a related field; graduate degree preferred.
- Experience in biotechnology, medical device, or pharmaceutical sectors is advantageous.
- Knowledge of real estate and construction processes is a plus.
- Lean manufacturing certifications (e.g., Lean Six Sigma Green Belt) are preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP systems is essential.
- Experience in facilities management or building maintenance, particularly in technical environments, is desirable.
- Proven skills in risk and change management.
- Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles.
- Knowledge of engineering systems, including HVAC and capital equipment purchasing processes.
- Demonstrated success in managing teams and customer relationships in operational settings.
