Hospital Medicine Opportunities at SCP Health

  • Physician Dynamics: 4 physicians per day with 7 am - 7 pm shifts and 1 nocturnist physician covering 7 pm - 7 am shifts.
  • Census Management: Average daily census of 71 patients, with each physician handling 15 - 18 patients and approximately 3 admissions per day.
  • ICU and Critical Care: 27 ICU beds with a focus on post-catheterization, STEMI, vascular surgery, open-heart surgery, and IABP patients. The ICU also manages patients with DKA, respiratory failure, GI bleed, post-code, and renal failure.
  • Sub-Specialty Support: Integration with sub-specialty teams, including pulmonologists for ventilation management.
  • Procedures and EMR: Optional procedures, with dedicated procedure teams for central lines, intubations, and other interventions. The EMR system used is Medhost.
