Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Histology Technician to work in our dermatology laboratory. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing histological slides from surgical and biopsy specimens, operating laboratory equipment, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare histological slides from surgical and biopsy specimens, including embedding, microtomy, mounting, and staining of tissue sections.
  • Operate laboratory equipment, such as tissue processors, embedding stations, tissue microtomes, and tissue stainers.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to established safety procedures and protocols.
  • Perform quality control and quality assurance tasks to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Assist with special projects and prepare weekly and monthly maintenance reports.
Requirements:
  • ASCP HT/HLT certification and Florida Histology License.
  • Strong knowledge of specimen processing and laboratory equipment operation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
