Mainframe Systems Programmer/Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Systems Programmer/Engineer to join our Technology Reliability Engineering and Operations (TREO) IBM Z Mainframe team. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for maintaining the z/OS operating system and related products.

Your primary focus will be on the operating system and ISV products and services, working collaboratively with the broader technology team to ensure the mainframe environment is reliable and secure. You will leverage your knowledge of the operating system to maintain vendor software, monitor the environment, and craft creative solutions to problems and obstacles.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the IBM Z Mainframe z/OS environment, including SMS, IBM Virtual Tape Library, Hitachi Storage/Disk, and Data Replication
  • Securingly supporting various upgrades, configuring, and maintaining supported release levels
  • Performing root cause analysis
  • Continuously improving stability and reliability in the IBM Z Mainframe space
  • Providing technical expertise on Information Technology projects
  • Preparing and maintaining necessary documentation

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of systems programming, systems analysis, transaction server administration, or other directly related experience
  • Working knowledge of programming, database, and systems analysis and related applications
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with both management and staff employees

Bonus/Soft Skills:

  • Requires a bachelor's in computer science, information systems, or related field
