Diesel Technician/Mechanic Job Description

Miller Environmental Group is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our operations department, you will be responsible for performing maintenance work on our fleet of diesel engine heavy duty trucks and trailers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctions in diesel engines, transmissions, and other vehicle systems
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and tire rotations
  • Test-drive vehicles to ensure repairs are completed to a high standard
  • Collaborate with maintenance supervisors to prioritize and schedule repairs
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to all relevant safety protocols and regulations
Requirements:
  • 2-3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic or technician
  • Valid CDL license (or ability to obtain)
  • Technical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, and other vehicle systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
Working Conditions:

The work environment is primarily shop-based, with occasional work in the yard or on the road. The noise level is moderate to loud, and personal protective equipment (PPE) is required to reduce exposure to hazardous materials.

This is a non-exempt position, and the employee is expected to work a standard 8-hour day with a 30-minute break. On-call availability for emergency breakdowns is required.
