The Maintenance Manager is a key role within the California Amforge Corporation, responsible for overseeing the maintenance functions of our facilities and equipment. This position requires a strong leader who can supervise a team of maintenance employees, ensuring that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and manage a team of maintenance employees, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules, prioritizing tasks to support production needs.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of combustion controls and equipment, ensuring that all systems are functioning properly.
- Prepare working sketches, bills of materials, and requisitions as needed.
- Provide technical assistance, training, and mentoring to the maintenance and plant services teams.
- Maintain a clean, orderly work area and ensure that all maintenance tasks are completed in a timely and safe manner.
- Establish and maintain a maintenance management system, driving improvement in equipment reliability and uptime.
- Participate in and support the company's Continuous Improvement (CI) and 6S programs.
- Participate in capital improvement and repair planning, ensuring that all projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Support Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) efforts, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
- Attend training sessions as needed to learn additional skills and stay up-to-date with manufacturing process changes.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of PLC controls, ensuring that all systems are functioning properly.
- Attend meetings as required, providing updates and insights to support business decisions.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with forging equipment, including presses and furnaces, is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of machine shop practice, welding procedures, hydraulics, pneumatics, basic electricity, and mobile equipment repair is required.
- Knowledge and ability to design and modify equipment is highly preferred.
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints, electrical schematics, and architectural drawings.
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering, technical, or business discipline is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interpret and present technical data.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, is required.
- Must be able to safely lift 50 pounds unaided.
- Must be able to spend up to 100% of the workday standing, walking, and bending.
- Must be able to successfully pass vision and hearing tests with or without assistance.
- Must be able and willing to safely work in enclosed spaces.
- Must be able and willing to safely work at height and climb ladders.
- Must be able to spend up to 100% of the day in full sunlight and occasionally in wet weather.
