We are seeking a highly skilled Travel Sales Counselor to join our team at AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah. As a Travel Sales Counselor, you will be responsible for providing exceptional travel sales and support experiences to our Members while building a book of business and attracting new clientele.
Key Responsibilities
- Sell International & Domestic vacation packages, cruises, tours, hotel, car rental, rail and air travel.
- Research and compare travel packages to match member needs and deliver exceptional member experiences.
- Stay current with world events and travel industry developments, and provide relevant information to members.
- Process and interpret travel documents, and inform members of governmental requirements.
- Initiate contact with members and past customers to prospect for new business and encourage repeat business.
- Cross-sell products and services, such as insurance and new membership accounts.
Requirements
- Basic computer skills and experience with industry-specific applications.
- GDS experience required.
- Knowledge of travel products and worldwide geography.
- Strong consultative selling skills and ability to listen to member needs.
- Bilingual communication skills are a plus.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of recent experience selling international and domestic travel services (preferred).
- Travel Institute certification as CTA, CTC, or CTIE (preferred).
Work Environment
- Works in an office environment with extended periods of sitting and computer use.
- May travel for business meetings or conferences.
Compensation
We target between the minimum and midpoint of the compensation range, and all offers are subject to a fair pay analysis. Compensation Range: Min: $43, Mid: $54, Max: $65,971.00
This role is subject to an incentive plan that includes commissions and/or piece rate bonuses. While top performers earn more, we expect most employees to earn between $0 - $38,000 annually in incentives, contingent on performance. New Travel Counselors are eligible for a bonus guarantee for the first five quarters.
