Job Summary

UNC Health Care is seeking a skilled Philanthropy Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and stewarding prospects and donors at the lead annual gift level ($25,000+) and higher.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Build a pipeline of grateful patient prospects by engaging and training clinicians, nurses, administrators, volunteers, and others in the grateful patient process.
  2. Work with Foundation, Service Line or Program Senior Leadership to help guide strategic direction, set priorities, and enlist their involvement in philanthropic efforts.
  3. Develop and implement an annual plan to secure lead annual gifts ($25,000+) in support of identified priorities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.

• Three (3) years of development or development-related experience.

• A successful track record in soliciting and closing lead annual gifts ($25,000+) is required.

• Experience in an academic medical center, university, or large college setting is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and presentational skills.

• Superior written and verbal communication skills.

• Working knowledge of computer-related office tools and database management.

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse constituencies, meet deadlines, be self-motivated, work independently, demonstrate flexibility, and adaptability to shifting priorities.

• Customer service-oriented attitude and ability to be a team player with proven relationship and influencing skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues from a variety of internal and external functional areas.
