Key Responsibilities- Maintain a Clean and Safe Environment: Ensure the hospital, including kennel area, runs, treatment area, and outside grounds, are clean and well-maintained.
- Animal Care and Feeding: Feed hospitalized animals and boarders, and monitor their behavior and habits.
- Monitor and Record Animal Information: Record important information about the animals' conditions, behavior, and habits.
- Animal Walking and Exercise: Walk animals three times a day to ensure their physical and mental well-being.
- Notify Veterinary Team: Notify the Doctor or a Veterinary Technician/Assistant of unusual medical or behavioral problems.
- Cleanliness and Organization: Clean treatment, exam, surgery, and lab areas daily, and maintain laundry throughout the day.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain the kennel inventory, including food, cleaning supplies, laundry supplies, etc.
- Assist Veterinary Team: Assist the Doctor and Veterinary Assistant with restraint and treatment of animals.
- Education: High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Schedule: Flexible schedule, including some weekend/holiday shifts.
- Computer Skills: Must have computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Communication Skills: Must possess strong communication skills, good judgment, and be able to manage stressful situations.
- Physical and Mental Capacity: Must have the physical and mental capacity to perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
- Lifting Ability: Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.
- Previous Experience: Previous experience as a kennel assistant is preferred.
- Pay: Pay range of $14-$15/hour based on experience.
