Job Summary:

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' motor skills, sensory processing, and functional abilities
  • Collaborate with school staff and IEP teams to develop individualized treatment plans and goals for students
  • Provide direct occupational therapy services to students, addressing areas such as fine motor skills, sensory integration, visual-motor coordination, and self-care
  • Adapt classroom environments, equipment, and materials to promote accessibility and facilitate student participation
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, special education staff, parents, and other professionals involved in the students' care
  • Document student progress, treatment plans, and other relevant information according to agency and school guidelines
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development and implementation of appropriate goals and accommodations for students
  • Stay updated on current research, best practices, and relevant laws and regulations in school-based occupational therapy
Qualifications:
  • Active Maryland Occupational Therapy license or eligibility to obtain licensure
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
  • Previous experience as a School Occupational Therapist is preferred, but new graduates with relevant fieldwork experience are encouraged to apply
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and IEP team members
