Job Title: COBOL Developer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled COBOL developer to join our team at Softpath System, LLC. As a COBOL developer, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting mainframe systems, developing COBOL applications, and providing technical support to other team members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and update technical and managerial skills to ensure proficiency in COBOL programming and mainframe tools.
  • Develop and implement COBOL applications, including data gathering, queries, and reporting from legacy systems.
  • Provide technical support to other team members, including evaluation of new development tools and agency systems.
  • Assist in the gathering of requirements for all IT solutions and develop applications based on those requirements.
  • Validate and finalize Local Change Board and Enterprise Change Board documents.
  • Ensure proper change management for all requested fixes to production systems and system designs.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in COBOL programming and mainframe tools.
  • Experience with data capture software and project/work estimation.
  • Ability to lead meetings, communicate clearly, and follow up on tasks.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with Xgen, Algol, Unisys, Bl products, Programmer's Workbench, Cande, DMSII, COMS, WFL, and ERGO.
