Responsibilities:

  1. Wash and clean all trays, dishes, pots, pans, and food prep equipment
  2. Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen equipment and dining areas
  3. Keep all areas clean and disinfected, including the lobby, halls, kitchen, dining room, food bank, and windows
  4. Maintain cleanliness of all restrooms and restock supplies as needed
  5. Ability to maintain cleanliness and upkeep of all property, including trash cans, lawns, and parking lots
  6. Pick up food and other donations as requested
  7. Vacuum, dust, clean, and dump trash at the Chapel and Annex as needed
  8. Maintain supply inventory and notify office when reordering is needed
  9. Will be able to supervise volunteers in a kind and supportive way
  10. Ability to work with all kinds of people in a kind and supportive way
  11. Must complete and adhere to Protecting the Mission requirements and guidelines, including the ability to pass The Salvation Army's background check
  12. Attend and participate in all training workshops and staff meetings as requested
  13. Perform all other duties as assigned or requested

Requirements:

  1. High School diploma or GED
  2. Valid WA driver's license and clean DMV record
  3. Ability to pass a drug test
  4. Strong use of the English language in verbal and written communications
  5. Able to follow written policies and procedures
  6. Dependable work record in reporting to work on time and completing assigned responsibilities
  7. Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  8. Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer
  9. Able to safety operate Soup Kitchen truck to collect and load food donations
  10. Must be able to use basic warehouse equipment such as dollies and pallet jacks
  11. Ability to understand written, visual, and/or verbal information

Software Skills:

  1. Ability to log in and out of a Microsoft Windows Computer
  2. Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
  2. Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects
  3. Ability to reach overhead
  4. Ability to lift up to 50lbs

Working Conditions:

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The ability to multitask and prioritize tasks is essential.
