Pharmacy Technician

The Detroit Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accurate and efficient preparation and dispensing of medications to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and package medications according to prescriber orders and established policies and procedures.
- Utilize mathematical calculations to ensure accuracy and maintain a sterile environment.
- Deliver floorstock medication, patient-specific medication, emergency boxes, and crash cart trays to patient care areas.
- Process and deliver controlled substances to patient care areas, maintaining appropriate controlled substance inventory and documentation.
- Collect and return medication orders and unused and expired medications from the patient care areas to the pharmacy for appropriate processing.
- Perform related charge functions and respond to requests and inquiries from hospital employees and customers.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Michigan by 10/1/15.
- Prior pharmacy experience and/or completion of formal pharmacy technician training, including knowledge of medical and pharmaceutical terminologies, is preferred.
- Certification is preferred.
