Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for overseeing and performing preventative and reactive maintenance duties required for the plant manufacturing operation. This includes routine maintenance and repairs on machinery, equipment, and systems, as well as conducting inspections to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery, equipment, and systems, including semi-trucks, forklifts, and trailers.
  • Conduct inspections to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders and inventory management.
  • Ensure OSHA compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

Requirements:

  • Strong mechanical knowledge and proficiency in troubleshooting and repair techniques.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems, including wiring, motors, and control panels.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Proficient in welding and fabrication techniques, a plus.
  • Knowledge of logic controllers and automation systems, a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in minor semi-truck repairs, including tires and brakes.
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education preferred.
  • CDL Class A or B Driver license, a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift loads of up to 100 pounds without the lift truck.
  • Ability to climb, bend, squat, kneel, crawl, and reach above shoulder level.
  • Ability to withstand varying temperatures.
  • Ability to work in different positions for a very long period of time and ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel or walk for up to eight (8) hours at a time.
  • Ability to utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment required for each job task (Steel toed shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, hard hat).
