Role Responsibilities

The Hartford HealthCare Heart & Vascular Institute is seeking a dedicated Electrophysiology Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) to join our expanding team. This role will involve working in an outpatient environment, focusing on the assessment and management of patients with various cardiac rhythm disorders. Key responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating and managing patients with arrhythmias
  • Conducting pre-admission assessments for cardiac electrophysiology procedures
  • Performing checks on cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs)
  • Overseeing remote monitoring of CIEDs
  • Facilitating evaluations and therapeutic interventions, including the management of CIEDs (pacemakers and implantable defibrillators) and catheter ablation procedures
  • Leading patient care meetings with the healthcare team to adjust care plans as necessary
  • Engaging in quality management initiatives to enhance patient and system outcomes

This position requires flexibility to work across multiple locations throughout Connecticut.

Qualifications

Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Master's program is preferred
  • Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) in Connecticut
  • Certification or eligibility for certification as a Physician Assistant or National Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (APRN) through AACN or ANCC
  • Experience in cardiology is preferred
  • Experience in cardiac device management is highly desirable
