Nuclear Medicine Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our department.
Key Responsibilities- Image Acquisition and Analysis: Determine the appropriate image scan technique and position for patients using immobilization and support devices. Secure patient history and record it on the appropriate form for the radiologist's review.
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Position patients, adjust equipment, secure immobilize and support devices as needed to perform procedures. Ensure that procedures sent to PACS are verified to enable radiologist interpretation.
- Quality Control and Assurance: Coordinate the flow of patients into and out of the department in accordance with established departmental procedures. Perform quality control activities as directed by IEMA on a daily, monthly, and quarterly basis.
- Patient Care and Education: Provide instruction and orientation to new technologists to effectively participate in the assessment of their performance reviews. Support peers in need of assistance with specific procedures.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all accepted safety standards and practices to ensure patient safety and quality patient care. Maintain supplies and cleanliness of all areas within the department on a daily basis.
- Education and Certification: Must be a graduate from an accredited AMA School of Nuclear Medicine. Must have current ARRT (N) or NMTBC certification, CPR, and state accreditations.
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of HIS system, basic knowledge of RIS systems, PACS, and IEMA accreditation in Medical Radiation Technology.
