About the Role

We are looking for a qualified Mechanical Engineer to perform failure analysis and forensic assignments within the field of mechanical engineering expertise. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire suppression, and other related equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough investigations into mechanical system failures, identifying the origin, cause, and root cause of incidents.
  • Perform site inspections, electronic data retrieval, and analysis of commercial and non-commercial equipment.
  • Review and interpret relevant codes, standards, drawings, specifications, technical manuals, and peer-reviewed literature.
  • Prepare written reports of findings, proposals, and general correspondence.
  • Provide expert testimony and support on fire and explosion investigations involving mechanical systems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or higher.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification required.
  • Minimum 2-10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, including knowledge of products, machine design, HVAC, plumbing, fire suppression systems, and/or other mechanical equipment/systems/processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong project management skills.
Benefits

As a salaried position with exempt FLSA status, this role offers a competitive salary and benefits package. Regular working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with one hour for lunch. Overtime may be required, but compensation will be commensurate with the demands of the position.

Travel Requirements

This position requires up to 25% travel, which may involve out-of-area and overnight trips. A valid driver's license and ability to drive a motor vehicle to job sites are necessary.
