This faculty position entails a professional responsible for the assessment, planning, execution, and evaluation of designated courses, ensuring adherence to high educational standards and quality assurance.Key Responsibilities
- Engage in didactic instruction, laboratory sessions, and clinical practicum courses within the Nursing program as assigned (12 credits per semester).
- Provide insightful and constructive academic guidance to nursing students.
- Demonstrate active participation in program, College of Nursing and Health Sciences, and University committees.
Qualifications
Education, Skills & Experience
- Doctorate in nursing or a related discipline from an accredited institution is preferred.
- Master of Science in Nursing is required.
- Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in Illinois.
- Certification in Psychiatric specialty is preferred.
- Demonstrated teaching excellence or potential; online teaching experience is a plus.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Commitment to serving a diverse student body.
- Alignment with the mission of Saint Xavier University and the values of service inherent in the Mercy Tradition.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Exceptional written and verbal communication capabilities, with proficiency in advanced functions of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to produce reports and correspondence and to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.
