Critical Care Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) at Trident Medical Center. As a key member of our interdependent team, you will be responsible for assessing, evaluating, planning, implementing, and coordinating a treatment plan to achieve positive patient and departmental outcomes.
Responsibilities- Assess and evaluate patients with critical illness and vent management, responding to Code Blue situations and initiating protocol, special procedures, and cardiac monitoring.
- Manage the efficient flow of patients, including screening, preparation for exam, providing general nursing care, and arranging or testing and admissions.
- Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
- Maintain and review patients' records, including posting tests and examination results.
- Administer medications in accordance with physician orders.
- Check rooms daily for necessary supplies.
- Respond to and refer incoming telephone calls, including phone triage when needed.
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing: Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is required.
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
- A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required.
- A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Health Care Provider is preferred and required to be obtained within 90 days months of hire/transfer date.
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification must be complete within 90 days of hire or transfer date.
- Minimum of one year acute surgical critical care nursing experience required.
