Speech Educator

The Nassau Board of Cooperative Educational Services is seeking a qualified Speech Teacher to join their team as a Leave Replacement. This role will provide opportunities to work with students who require speech and language services.
About the RoleThis position will involve conducting speech and language re-evaluations for special education students, delivering individual and group speech services, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with teachers, parents, and component school districts.
Responsibilities- Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify students' communication needs
- Developing and implementing personalized speech and language plans
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Collaborating with educational teams to support student success
- New York State Education Department (NYSED) Certification in Special Education
- NYS Speech-Language Pathology License and Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
- Experience working with children and adolescents with Autism and/or emotional and behavioral disorders is preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
