Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to support the respiratory care team at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital. This includes administering breathing treatments, nebulizer treatments, and ventilator setup and monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer breathing treatments and nebulizer treatments to patients as prescribed by physicians
  • Set up and monitor ventilators to ensure proper function and patient safety
  • Conduct blood gas analysis to assess patient respiratory status
  • Collaborate with the respiratory care team to develop and implement patient care plans

Requirements

  • Graduate of a two or four year accredited respiratory care program
  • BLS Certification required within 60 days of hire
  • ACLS and PALS certification preferred
  • Registered by National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner License for South Dakota

Work Schedule

  • Days and Nights – 12hr shifts
  • Every 3rd weekend/holiday rotation
  • 72hrs/2wks

Compensation

The hourly range for this position is $26.25-$39.50 per hour, dependent on experience.
