The Inclusive Education Specialist will create a tailored instructional environment, collaborating with students and families to assess and develop individualized academic plans. This role involves:
- Designing and executing daily lesson plans aligned with the established curriculum.
- Administering pre- and post-assessments to evaluate student progress.
- Collaborating with a team to establish and implement goals as outlined in each student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
- Managing student behavior effectively.
- Demonstrating proficiency across all subject areas.
- Identifying students with potential disabilities following intervention assessments.
- Delivering direct instruction to students.
- Conducting academic evaluations.
- Organizing and leading IEP meetings, including periodic reviews.
- Adhering to special education timelines as mandated by educational regulations.
- Providing support to general education teachers in adapting lessons for special education students.
- Collaborating with Special Education Program Specialists and support staff to enhance student learning.
- Participating in training sessions, school events, and meetings as required.
- Maintaining thorough documentation of communications with students, families, and service providers.
- Completing necessary reports and administrative tasks as assigned.
- Traveling to various educational sites to provide specialized teaching services.
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
- Understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to special education.
- Strong reading and writing abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively with a diverse student population.
- Capability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field.
- Valid Teaching Certification in Ohio with a Special Education endorsement.
- Authorizations in English Language and Autism.
- Experience working with exceptional learners is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and educational technology applications.
- Willingness to travel as needed for job responsibilities.
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
- Medium workload management and project coordination.
- Frequent communication requiring clear and accurate conveyance of information.
