Position Overview

The Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research is seeking a dedicated Pediatric Cardiac Rhythm Specialist to enhance our team within the Department of Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine.

This role involves joining the Division of Pediatric Cardiology, collaborating closely with our existing pediatric electrophysiologist to provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient electrophysiology services. We encourage applications from those with a strong interest in invasive electrophysiology, although candidates focusing on non-invasive techniques will also be considered.

About the Division

For over six decades, families have turned to our Pediatric Cardiology division for expert care in congenital heart conditions. Our team evaluates and treats thousands of children and adolescents each year, ensuring the highest standard of care.

The Mayo Congenital Cardiac Program consists of a robust team, including 15 pediatric cardiologists, 8 adult congenital cardiologists, and 2 congenital cardiac surgeons, all dedicated to the management of congenital heart disease from infancy through adulthood.

Our pediatric electrophysiologists maintain joint appointments with the adult cardiology heart rhythm division, allowing for seamless care of arrhythmias in young adults with congenital heart disease, and access to cutting-edge technologies.

Candidate Qualifications

Applicants must be board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Cardiology with the American Board of Pediatrics and possess subspecialty training in pediatric electrophysiology. Candidates should also be licensed or eligible for licensure in Minnesota. IBHRE certification or eligibility in pediatric electrophysiology or cardiac devices is preferred.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate excellent clinical skills and a strong background in pediatric electrophysiology, including performing electrophysiology studies, catheter ablations, and the implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators, along with proficiency in reading ECGs and device interrogations.

A commitment to education and clinical research is highly valued.
