Position Overview

This role offers a unique opportunity to develop essential skills in food distribution logistics while working as part of a dedicated team at Performance Foodservice. As a Driver Trainee, you will be responsible for assisting experienced driver trainers with deliveries and routes, gaining hands-on experience in hauling freight and operating tractor trailers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely execute deliveries and assist driver trainers with their routes
  • Perform pre- and post-trip safety inspections according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
  • Ensure all required paperwork is accurately completed and maintained
  • Unload products from trailers and transport them to designated customer storage areas
  • Verify delivery of items with customers and obtain proper signatures
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; CDL A license mandatory
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
  • Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Valid current DOT Health Card and/or ability to secure new DOT Health Card
  • Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment to move product cases/freight of varying size and weight
