Job Summary:

At Intermountain Healthcare, we are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for producing high-quality ultrasound images and obtaining accurate measurements for each exam.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce high-quality ultrasound images and obtain accurate measurements for each exam.
  • Recognize the sonographic appearance of normal and abnormal tissue structures and provide the best image quality for documentation.
  • Document all applicable patient and procedure data consistently and correctly.
  • Obtain and evaluate pertinent patient history and physical findings that may affect the sonographic examination.
  • Explain procedures adequately to patients to maximize patient comfort and cooperation.
  • Monitor during all phases of procedure with special care taken to insure patient emotional and physical well-being.
  • Communicate patient information in a professional and courteous manner to patients and to referring physician offices as required.
  • Maintain the ultrasound equipment for cleanliness and ensure proper equipment maintenance and equipment safety.
  • Calibrate and maintain equipment and order supplies when needed.
  • Schedule and coordinate tests.
  • Prepare and maintain operational logs.
  • Assist with Quality Assurance/Improvements audits and activities as required.

Requirements:

  • ARRT Registry or ARDMS Registry.
  • The ARDMS must include successful completion of one registry pertinent to the department beyond physics (options include OB, abdominal, neuro, breast, and, vascular).
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification, issued by American Heart Association.
  • Ultrasound experience, preferred.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to stand for long periods, walk, and move quickly and safely throughout the facility.
