At Impinj, we're pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the Internet of Things (IoT) space. As a Principal Machine Learning Engineer specializing in Applied Algorithms, you'll play a key role in developing innovative RAIN RFID solutions that connect everyday items to the internet.

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in machine learning and algorithms development. In this position, you'll work closely with our interdisciplinary team to research, design, and deploy experimental RAIN RFID algorithms and models that address our enterprise customer needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leverage your expertise in machine learning and algorithms development to research, develop, and deploy RAIN solution algorithms that meet our customers' needs.
  • Pioneer new RAIN RFID applications that help customers solve real-world problems across various use cases and industries.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including Software, Hardware, and System Engineering teams, as well as Go-to-Market teams, to design effective machine learning solutions.
  • Work with outside partners and customers to develop and deploy novel RAIN RFID solutions based on our platform.
  • Create metrics and configure A/B testing to evaluate model performance offline and online, providing insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest machine learning research and techniques, incorporating them into your work as appropriate.
  • Develop proof-of-concept demonstrations for customers and partners to showcase potential uses of our RAIN RFID platform.
  • Analyze data from enterprise customer deployments to assess system performance and build behavior models.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field.
  • At least 10+ years of experience building end-to-end machine learning products, from data gathering to deployment and monitoring.
Technical Skills

You should possess:

  • Data handling and processing skills, including data cleaning, error correction, and integration.
  • Experience with machine learning libraries and frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or C++.
  • Advanced understanding of linear algebra, calculus, probability, and statistics.
  • Software engineering practices, including version control systems like Git and collaborative coding practices.
