Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for taking x-ray exposures of patients as requested by referring physicians. You will explain the x-ray procedure to patients, assure their safety, review films to ensure appropriate images, and prepare files and reports.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Greets patients, confirms the image to be taken, and explains the x-ray procedure to them.
  • Reviews patients' medical history prior to performing the x-ray procedure and confirms that the patient has signed a contrast media consent form if needed.
  • Takes x-ray exposures of patients following the protocol for position of body, intensity of radiation, and time of exposure.
  • Processes film and inspects images to determine that they meet the requirements of the radiologist.
  • Maintains equipment and examination room, stores film, and keeps inventory of related supplies.
  • Prepares patient information files showing patients' name, date of x-ray, referring physician, and number of exposures.
  • Prepares and submits reports showing the number and type of x-rays.
  • Performs other related duties as directed.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • Completion of formal training in radiologic technology.
Additional Requirements
  • In order to work effectively with patients, must have effective interpersonal and communication skills and be able to stand, walk, bend, lift at least 50 pounds, hear, speak, and see.
  • Proficiency in the use of applicable computer software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience as a radiologic technologist preferred to include on-the-job training and internships.
