Audit and Tax Professional

CBIZ is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Audit and Tax Intern. As a key member of our team, you will assist in planning and executing audit assignments, preparing and reviewing tax returns, and developing tax compliance knowledge.
Responsibilities- Gain an understanding of multiple audit assignments and assist in planning and execution
- Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for partnerships, C corporations, S corporations, and individuals
- Develop tax compliance knowledge and assist with IRS audits, tax notice response, trust returns, gift, and estate returns
- Execute solid understanding of accounting and auditing principles, quality control standards, and technology implementation procedures
- Participate in client assignments from beginning to end
- Identify and communicate audit issues, technical matters, and improvement opportunities with senior associates, managers, and partners
- Develop and maintain an excellent working relationship with all levels of client staff to increase customer satisfaction and strengthen client relationships
- Working towards a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, research, and audit project management skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
- Ability to multi-task, think independently, and problem-solve in a results-driven team-oriented environment
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Strong computer and technical skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, intranet, and tax/audit software
- Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field
- Active participation in student organizations or work experience in accounting or a related field
The hourly rate for this job in this market is $32.00. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the education, experience, and skill set of the individual selected for this position.
