Job Title: Facilities Technician

Cocoon House is seeking a skilled Facilities Technician to join our Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness and functionality of our facilities, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our youth, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment
  • Assess and prioritize maintenance needs, developing schedules and performing tasks as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness of common spaces and ensure overall tidiness of facilities
  • Develop and maintain maintenance best practices, policies, and procedures
  • Communicate effectively with operations and leadership teams, collaborating on long-term solution recommendations
  • Manage vendor relationships, including annual certification scheduling
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations, including proper storage of chemicals, tools, and equipment
  • Oversee facility improvement projects, including volunteer groups in collaboration with the Volunteer Manager
  • Order and inventory facility supplies
  • Perform minor electrical and plumbing maintenance, including repairs and replacements
  • Perform minor painting, carpentry, and masonry work
  • Perform routine custodial services, both interior and exterior
  • Seasonal maintenance of landscaping at all sites
  • Reconfigure, install, and position modular offices and space to accommodate user needs
  • Prepare surfaces and paint various structures and equipment
  • Perform vehicle preventive maintenance
Requirements:
  • 2+ years' experience in general building and grounds maintenance, including basic plumbing, HVAC, security, fire system upkeep, and vehicle maintenance
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Clear a background check with DCYF
  • Possess a valid Washington State driver's license, insurance, and reliable transportation
  • Experience working in organizations experiencing rapid growth and expansion a plus
  • Ability to use common tools and demonstrate knowledge of OSHA requirements
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
