Primary Care Physician Assistant

The Physician Assistant Primary Care is a licensed, certified healthcare provider who delivers direct patient care and has delegated prescriptive authority. They are credentialed and privileged, with services billed as an independent billing provider, recognized by Medicare and Medicaid within the healthcare systems.
This role provides medical care based on the scope of practice defined by the supervising physician. Providers typically offer care to patients in internal medicine, family medicine, geriatric, or pediatric clinics.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patient condition through comprehensive physical examinations and medical histories.
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests to evaluate patient problems and healthcare needs.
- Prescribe drug therapies, recommend treatments, and perform procedures according to approved protocols.
- Evaluate patient response to healthcare provided and assess treatment effectiveness.
Requirements:
- Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in Texas.
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
