We are in search of a Polymer Manufacturing Engineer to become part of our expanding, innovative, and collaborative workplace.

The Engineer will be tasked with comprehending polymer materials and manufacturing techniques, applying this expertise to support product and process development, performance evaluation, quality assurance, and ongoing enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee technical operations related to injection molding, extrusion, and pultrusion processes

Selection, compounding, qualification, and management of raw materials

Review and provide insights on part drawings, specifications, and tolerances

Supervise mold and die design, setup, qualification, maintenance, and storage

Facilitate equipment upgrades, modifications, and repairs

Develop work instructions, conduct operator training, and implement quality control procedures

Coordinate technical problem-solving, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives

Implement in-process data collection, process capability assessments, and Statistical Process Control

Conduct product performance and acceptance testing

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline.

Minimum of 5 years of direct experience with injection molding, extrusion, and/or pultrusion materials and processes.


Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, statistical analysis software such as Minitab, and 3D modeling software like SolidWorks is essential.

Specific knowledge in polymer structure, properties, compounding, processing, and quality control is required.

Expertise in polymer characterization, standardized testing methods, and equipment is crucial.

Familiarity with Six Sigma, Lean, and Total Quality Management principles is advantageous.

General skills in root cause analysis, continuous improvement, and quality assurance are necessary.

Ability to communicate and report findings clearly and concisely is important.

Formal project management skills are a plus.

The base salary range for this role will be commensurate with experience.
