We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Park Ranger to join our team at the City of Chula Vista, CA. As a Park Ranger, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of park patrons, enforcing park rules and regulations, and performing routine maintenance tasks.

• Patrol assigned areas to monitor public safety and enforce park rules and regulations
• Provide direct assistance to park patrons, including answering questions and resolving issues
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and maintaining park facilities, collecting rubbish, and emptying trash receptacles
• Assist with emergency situations, such as administering first aid and updating incident reports
• Work effectively as a team member in a challenging and changing environment

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
• One year of experience in a related field, such as conservation, public works, or customer service
• Valid California driver's license required; PC 832 certificate and American Red Cross certifications in CPR and First Aid preferred
• Ability to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Strong communication and customer service skills

This is a part-time, non-benefited position limited to 919 hours of employment in a fiscal year. The work environment is outdoors, with exposure to wet, cold, windy, hot, and/or humid conditions. The employee must be able to stand, bend, crouch, stoop, or walk for prolonged periods of time, and lift, carry, and push tools, equipment, and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
