Job Summary

The University of Miami/UHealth has an exciting opportunity for a Per Diem EEG Technician to join our team. As an EEG Technician, you will operate specialized equipment to measure and record electrical activity of the brain, peripheral nervous system, and spinal cord.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform EEG tests as requested by physicians, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
  • Review patient records and conduct interviews to gather additional information, enhancing patient care and diagnosis.
  • Prepare patients for procedures by attaching monitoring devices and explaining the process, promoting patient comfort and understanding.
  • Set up and calibrate necessary equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Monitor patients' status during testing, recording observations and ensuring data accuracy.
  • Analyze test data to ensure appropriate information is collected, supporting accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Report test results to physicians for further analysis, facilitating informed decision-making.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring a clean and safe environment, and implementing quality control procedures.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform minor repairs, minimizing downtime and ensuring continuous service.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Related certification desired.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
