Position Overview

Role Summary:

The Licensed Structural Engineer will be responsible for conducting thorough evaluations of existing structures and ensuring their integrity and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute structural assessments of current buildings.
  • Engage in field investigations, determine existing conditions, perform necessary calculations, and develop design solutions.
  • Produce comprehensive construction documents, including detailed drawings and specifications for structural initiatives.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow structural engineers within the organization.
  • Work in close partnership with both internal and external architects and engineers.
  • Coordinate with drafting professionals and designers to convert designs into precise technical documentation.
  • Contribute to projects that focus solely on structural engineering as well as those that involve multiple disciplines.
  • Manage construction oversight duties such as site inspections, review of submissions, and addressing requests for information (RFIs).
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers (EITs).
  • Authorize and validate drawings for personal projects and those supervised.

Qualifications Required:

  • Must hold a Professional Engineer license in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering with a focus on structural studies from an accredited institution.
  • Experience with structural design software (RISA) is preferred; familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit is advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

  • Able to function independently or as part of a collaborative engineering or architectural team.
