The estimated salary for this position is $27.64-$45.35 per hour, based on industry standards and location considerations.

Job Description

As an Arboricultural Labourer at wright tree service, you will be responsible for assisting our skilled arborists in various tasks related to tree care and maintenance. This may include operating chainsaws, loading/unloading trucks, gathering brush, and feeding it into wood chippers.

Essential Functions

• Operate gasoline-powered chainsaws to cut brush, logs, and stumps of larger trees while working from the ground.
• Load and unload trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris or feed brush into a wood chipper. Gather brush and carry it to the chipper area.
• Work around hazardous equipment and take necessary safety precautions.
• Be exposed to all temperatures and weather conditions, as well as irritating plants, biting or stinging insects, dust, etc.
• May work on rough terrain and help enforce on-the-job safety practices for crew members.
• Safeguard employees and the public from hazards in and around the work area by setting up barriers, warning signs, flags, etc.
• Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Must be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times per day.
• Must be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work tasks.
• Ability to lift, move, and maneuver up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis and up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis.
• Must have valid driver's license and be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Possess herbicide applicator or operator certification and license as required by law.
