About the Role

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join our Indianapolis, IN office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance on transportation infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
  • Develop study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality, cost-effective work.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
  • Develop construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
  • Use expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
  • Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
  • Prepare technical specification sections.
  • Provide input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
  • Initiate and create project designs and drawings/plans for transportation and/or civil design projects.
  • Perform detailed design, including preparation of complete calculation packages and development of details.
  • Guide drafting team for preparation of drawings from early stages of the design to the final contract plans.
  • Understand the importance of review and quality control and able to perform review of design calculations and drawings and specifications.
  • Prepare and contribute in the development and implementation of technical approach in projects in collaboration with the Project Manager.
  • Oversee the work of less experienced designers.
  • Meet with clients to ensure client needs are met.
Requirements
  • Minimum requirements: BSCE + 6 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Preferred qualifications: BS in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline, 10+ years of related experience, Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Indiana or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire if current PE is out of state, Computer skills using Microsoft office, HCS, Synchro, HISSM, AutoCAD and MicroStation preferred, Strong familiarity with InRoads a plus, Extensive experience working within highway and roadway design, Prior experience working with the Indiana Department of Transportation is a plus.
