Work Schedule:

Every other Saturday (7:30am to 12:00pm) and during the week (7:30am to 4:00pm).

Wednesday evening, 5:00pm to 7:00pm.

Additional hours optional.

Job Overview:

Under the supervision of the department Director and the Medical Director of the Cardiology Section, the echocardiography specialist will execute high-quality ultrasound imaging of the heart, adhering to the standards set by the International Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories as well as departmental protocols. The role involves conducting 2D echocardiograms, Doppler studies, stress echocardiograms, and transesophageal echocardiograms. The staff member will uphold the policies and procedures of Virtua Health and align with its Mission and Vision Statement.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform 2D echocardiogram Doppler studies, ensuring accurate editing in the digital system for physician review.

- Conduct stress echocardiograms and dobutamine stress tests, with thorough editing in the digital system for physician interpretation.

- Collaborate with cardiologists to complete transesophageal echocardiograms, ensuring proper editing and processing for physician evaluation.

Required Qualifications:

Experience:

A minimum of 1 year of experience in echocardiography is essential, with knowledge of Stress Echocardiography and Transesophageal Echocardiography procedures.

Education:

Graduate from an accredited echocardiography program.

Certification / Licensure:

Echocardiography technicians must obtain credentialing through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) within one year of employment. Pediatric Echocardiography requires RDCS Pediatric credential or approval from interpreting pediatric cardiologists.
