Respite Care Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Respite Care Assistant to join our team at Christ House. As a Respite Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing basic patient care and support to individuals experiencing homelessness.
Key Responsibilities- Provide basic patient care, including assistance with activities of daily living and care of the environment.
- Measure and record vital signs as ordered.
- Perform admission procedures, including welcoming and orienting new patients to the nursing unit.
- Assist patients with maintaining a clean environment and provide clean clothing and bed linens as needed.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as showering, shaving, and dressing.
- Accompany patients to medical appointments and provide coverage at the desk as needed.
- Perform daily end-of-shift cleaning assignments and complete discharge procedures as directed.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with individuals who are experiencing homelessness, preferably in a direct patient care setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and make sound judgments.
- A commitment to teamwork and a willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
