Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Center Cooling Specialist to join our team at Spelman College. As a Data Center Cooling Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and efficiency of our data center cooling systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement physics-based models of chilled-water cooling equipment and systems using Schneider's EcoStruxure IT Advisor CFD software.
  • Collaborate with our team of research engineers and software developers to design and optimize data center cooling systems.
  • Work with power consumption modeling for data centers to ensure energy efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify areas for improvement in data center cooling systems.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of data center cooling systems, including design specifications and operational procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field of study.
  • Academic focus on or experience with CFD, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and thermodynamics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with advanced spreadsheets, Python, and other programming languages.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
