Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to enhance our dynamic team at Memorial Hospital of Union County.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of both outpatients and inpatients referred for Physical Therapy by medical professionals.
  • Develop individualized patient care plans, setting both short-term and long-term objectives, along with the necessary treatment modalities tailored to each patient.
  • Implement various physical therapy techniques, including but not limited to exercise regimens, hydrotherapy, thermotherapy, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and manual therapy, aimed at restoring physical function, alleviating discomfort, and preventing disability due to illness, injury, or surgical procedures.
  • Educate patients on the proper use and care of assistive devices such as braces, canes, crutches, and prosthetics.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of patient evaluations and progress in medical documentation.
  • Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, sharing vital patient information to ensure cohesive care.
Supervisory Duties

Oversee the activities of Physical Therapist Assistants, Athletic Trainers, Physical Therapy Aides, student interns, and volunteers. Participate in training initiatives for other Allied Health departments within the facility.

Professional Development

Engage in continuous learning to stay updated on the latest advancements in Physical Therapy, enhancing professional skills through literature reviews, peer evaluations, and ongoing education.

Compliance and Ethics

Adhere to the hospital's Ethics and Compliance program, remaining vigilant in identifying and reporting any compliance discrepancies to the appropriate supervisory channels.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution is required. Must hold a valid license to practice Physical Therapy in the state of Ohio.
