The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service and maintaining high standards of quality in food production, sanitation, and safety practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with general kitchen tasks, including cooking and preparing meals according to the menu
• Serve food according to meal schedules and procedures, ensuring portion control and maintaining order and cleanliness of the kitchen
• Follow Safety guidelines when operating equipment and adhere to all industry standard guidelines for food safety and sanitation
• Ensure counting and claiming process are followed according to USDA/TDA guidelines, if assigned
• Provide good customer service to maintain good customer relationships and process cash handlings accurately and in a timely fashion

Requirements:

• High School diploma or general education diploma (GED) preferred; may substitute equivalent work experience for diploma preference
• Experience in school food service/food service
• Possess current Food Handler Permit (or the ability to obtain within the first 20 days of hire) and ability to understand food preparation and safety instructions
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment and food production procedures, capable of operating small and large kitchen equipment and tools
• Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel, students, and parents, and read, analyze, and apply written or oral English instructions
• Ability to use basic office equipment and perform basic arithmetic operations

Work Environment:

The work environment is representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The environment requires proximity to other employees, frequent interruptions, extended periods of time viewing a computer screen and standing, and noise levels from moderate to high. There may be activity from other employees and students of a distracting nature.

Starting Pay:

$15.00/hr
