Job Description: Wind Power Technician Leader

We are seeking a skilled Wind Power Technician Leader to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance and installation team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on assigned wind turbines under minimal supervision.

Your day-to-day tasks may include climbing, carrying tools and equipment, and working in small spaces to complete your work. Teamwork is essential in this role, and you will work closely with colleagues to ensure high-quality results and meet customer expectations.

In this intermediate-level position, you will use your electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical expertise to perform tasks such as:

  • Maintenance and repair of wind turbine components
  • Installation of new wind turbine components
  • Performing routine inspections and troubleshooting

You will be provided with defined schedules and procedures, including safety protocols, verbal/written instructions, but you may also provide mentorship to entry-level technicians.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of technical wind industry experience, OR six (6) months of technical wind industry experience and a certificate of completion from a wind technician program, OR a minimum of three (3) years' electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, composite skills, or heavy machinery experience
  • The ability to climb stairs and ladders while carrying up to 50 lbs. in weight
  • Experience with the use and understanding of intermediate-level power tools, such as hydraulic, power torque, and diagnostic tools
  • A valid driver's license
  • Basic computer operation skills and familiarity with internet-based program navigation
  • The ability to read, interpret, and understand drawings and schematics, with attention to detail to follow safety protocols
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues and customers
