Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Engineer to join our team at Howmet Aerospace in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. As an EHS Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and the environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with location fatality prevention efforts, including leading the deployment and execution of key fatality prevention elements and coaching location leaders.
  • Analyze injury and incident data to assist line management in implementing focused injury reduction efforts and provide expertise to proactively address injury reduction efforts.
  • Support the facility's industrial hygiene program, including executing IH sampling plans, administering IH databases and employee exposure records, hazardous material management, ergonomics oversight, and serving as the radiation protection technical resource.
  • Provide technical expertise and participate in injury/incident investigations to assist in identifying root cause analysis and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Coach and counsel departmental leaders in the execution of their EHS accountabilities and partner with location leadership to deliver EHS objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • At least 2 years of environmental, health or safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to interpret instructions both written and oral.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in environmental, safety or health discipline from an accredited institution.
  • 3 years of environmental, health or safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Skills
  • Demonstrated professional with passion for change and relentless focus on execution.
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal and State EHS related regulations and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills, analytical skills, problem-solving and human relations skills.
  • Ability to make difficult decisions with sometimes an incomplete set of data.
