We're Looking for an Endoscopy Suite Professional

As an Endoscopy Suite Professional at St. Luke's, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our gastrointestinal procedure rooms.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Endoscopy Suite Professional to join our team. The successful candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced healthcare environment and possess strong technical skills, particularly in the care and maintenance of GI flexible endoscopes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Care and maintenance of GI flexible endoscopes and accessories
  • Set up and breakdown of procedures in GI procedure rooms according to procedural and/or physician requirements
  • Intra-procedure assistance to nurses and physicians performing routine, advanced, and emergent procedures
  • Assistance with patient transport between pre/post procedure areas, procedure rooms, and patient care areas
  • Cleaning, disinfecting, or calibrating scopes and other endoscopic instruments according to manufacturer recommendations and facility standards
  • Maintenance of working inventories of endoscopic equipment and supplies
  • Anticipation of physician needs to ensure excellent patient care and safety throughout the endoscopic procedure
  • Providing physical and emotional support to patients during their encounter
  • Troubleshooting issues related to endoscopes and instruments used during procedures
  • Assistance with ordering and restocking of supplies
  • Inputting information into the GI database and assisting with scheduling patients
  • Observation area duties, including documenting vitals, retrieving clothes, and contacting family members regarding transportation
  • Performing pre-op phone calls to patients with specific instructions regarding procedures
  • Assisting with PCA duties in APU and PACU
  • Completing quality monitoring and maintaining documentation thereof
  • Entering hernia data into the program for the Hernia Center of Excellence

Requirements:

To be considered for this position, candidates must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and specialized training and experience in processing instruments, particularly flexible endoscopes. Successful completion of a BLS course and basic computer skills are also required.

Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
