Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct maintenance, preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and modifications of aircraft in compliance with federal regulations and technical documentation.
  • Perform daily and turnaround inspections on all assigned aircraft to ensure operational readiness.
  • Engage in inspections, corrosion management, troubleshooting, and fault isolation on various aircraft systems.
  • Occasionally required to operate Government aircraft for relocation, in-flight assessments, and troubleshooting that cannot be executed on the ground.
  • May necessitate official travel to temporary duty locations domestically and internationally.
  • Provide personal hand tools for aircraft maintenance; necessary specialized tools and testing equipment will be supplied by Amentum.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as needed to support the overarching mission.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid State driver's license is mandatory.
  • Willingness to undergo random drug testing is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a suitable clearance through a background investigation is essential; U.S. Citizenship is necessary for clearance eligibility.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent certification from an accredited institution is required.
  • Valid FAA Mechanic certificate with Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) ratings is essential.
  • Demonstrated competence and knowledge in the maintenance and repair of airframes, hydraulic systems, fuel systems, and aircraft engines.
  • Reliability and sound judgment are critical attributes.
  • Ability to adhere to federal, base, and company protocols for hazardous waste management.
  • Capability to meet deadlines and maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, understanding, and communicating in English, along with the ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret technical documentation.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment:

  • Physical capability to perform aircraft mechanic duties is essential.
  • Ability to navigate within the aircraft and meet specific weight limitations.
  • Must be able to stand, squat, sit, walk, and work with arms overhead for extended durations.
  • May be required to utilize a respirator.
  • Ability to pull, push, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional work in high noise environments may necessitate the use of appropriate ear protection.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with rotary wing aircraft is highly desirable.
