Job Summary

The Lead Certified Veterinary Technician (Lead CVT) plays a crucial role in the success of Roseway Veterinary Hospital. This position is responsible for training, supervising, and assisting veterinary support staff to plan, coordinate, and perform a variety of duties concerned with animal health and client education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Train and supervise veterinary support staff to ensure they are equipped to provide exceptional patient care and client service.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to promote efficiency and effectiveness in the veterinary department.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of pharmaceuticals, equipment, and supplies to ensure they are up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide education and training to clients on preventative healthcare recommendations, including vaccines, flea and heartworm preventatives, and dental care.
  • Assist in the management of the veterinary department, including scheduling, client communication, and problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with the Practice Manager to address personnel issues, performance concerns, and client feedback.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve client satisfaction and loyalty.
Requirements
  • Must have a strong background in veterinary technology and experience in a supervisory role.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team.
  • Knowledge of veterinary policies, procedures, and regulations, including OSHA and DEA requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care and client service.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
