About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled High-Performance System Integration Specialist to join our team at GTSC. This is a full-time position based in Columbia, Maryland.

The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 per year, plus benefits.

Job Description

The selected candidate will provide guidance and support for system integration engineering of large-scale systems, major system elements, and interfacing systems that are part of a large complex network environment with geographically distributed components.

This includes working with program management, system and software integration engineers, test engineers, information assurance engineers, and other project team members in an Agile environment.

The specialist will also support Linux and Windows-based components within a large, high-performance computing system.

A key responsibility of the role will be providing substantial diagnostics and troubleshooting, which involves working with other System Integrators to determine system behavior errors (may be software or hardware-related).

This may include examining packet captures at a low level and analyzing event/audit logs to identify errors and determine root causes.

The successful candidate will have experience developing creative solutions to issues that arise on the fly and ensuring they are tracked and included in the Development, Integration, and Production environments before systems deployment.

The role also requires the ability to plan and prioritize tasking based on mission and team needs.

In addition, the specialist must be an independent thinker, capable of performing high-quality work, both independently and with a team in a fast-moving environment.

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance and support for system integration engineering

  • Analyze event/audit logs to identify errors and determine root causes
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in system engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related field and at least eight (8) years of related experience
  • Hands-on keyboard experience troubleshooting IT systems and networks
  • Linux system administration experience
  • Virtualization experience required via any industry-standard hypervisor
  • Experience deploying application software including application servers
  • Ability to analyze event/audit logs to identify errors and determine root causes
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
