Job Overview

We are looking for a committed Hospice Resource Nurse to enhance the quality of care provided to our patients at Sangre de Cristo Community Care. Our organization is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and their families through compassionate end-of-life services, symptom management, and support.

Role Responsibilities

As a Resource Nurse, you will play a crucial role in guiding and delivering nursing care in accordance with established agency policies and procedures. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing coverage for patients and assisting with intakes as necessary.
  • Collaborating with the care team to ensure effective nursing practices.
  • Utilizing the nursing process competently to meet patient needs.
Work Schedule

This position involves a rotating schedule of three 12-hour shifts, offering flexibility and significant time off.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive salary ranging from $35 to $38 per hour.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Colorado.
  • A minimum of two years of general nursing experience, preferably in Hospice/Home Health, medical, surgical, or critical care settings.
  • Experience in effective pain and symptom management.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage detailed information.
  • Excellent observational and communication skills, with the ability to document effectively.
  • Flexibility and cooperation in a team environment.
  • Understanding of the hospice philosophy.
  • Proof of a Tuberculin Skin Test (PPD), TB blood test, and/or CXR, or completion upon employment.
  • Annual influenza vaccination is mandatory.
  • Valid Colorado driver's license.
